Hi, I'm Maggie Zhang. I'm from Beijing, China, the first and only city that has hosted both the Summer and Winter Olympics. That’s where my journey began.

My passion for visual sports storytelling started with a camera in one hand and a lifelong love for sports in the other. Over time, I combined these two interests to tell stories that look beyond the scoreboard, focusing on the people, the culture, and the deeper impact of sports in our lives.

I majored in Broadcast Journalism at the Communication University of China, where I developed skills in photography, videography, and multimedia storytelling. One of my most meaningful projects was a documentary I created about a retired gymnast. Through both academic studies and hands-on experience, my goal has stayed the same: to create meaningful and visually compelling sports stories that resonate with people. That’s also what led me to pursue a master’s degree in Sports Communication and Strategic Communication at the University of Texas at Austin.

Outside of sports, I’m a curious traveler who finds inspiration in new places, diverse communities, and small everyday moments that are often overlooked. One of my personal goals is to visit every Disneyland and Universal Studios by the age of 25, and every continent by 30. And yes, I say hi to every dog I meet along the way.
